Resources are a core component of Workers & Resources, as it's even in the name. Almost everything in Workers & Resources requires resources to function, and if playing without unlimited money, resources are needed to export for money or construct infrastructure without using money. Almost all resources fall into one of four categories: aggregates, open storage resources, warehouse resources, liquids, and misc. resources that do not fall into any of these categories (i.e., meats, livestock, asphalt, and concrete). Meat and livestock require their own storage and transportation, while asphalt and concrete cannot be stored and must instead be manufactured on demand and transported via dump trucks and mixer trucks, respectively.
Resource deposits are only visible on the minimap if the required technology has been researched or the game was started with research disabled. Coal, iron and oil require the Geological Mapping technology to be visible. Uranium requires the Uranium Mining Techniques technology to be visible. Bauxite requires the Bauxite Exploration Study technology to be visible.
