Uranium ore

From Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic Official Wiki

Uranium ore is a raw resource used for producing uranium oxide, which is in the production chain for nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic.

Background

Uranium ore deposits are economically recoverable concentrations of uranium within the Earth's crust. Uranium is one of the more common elements in the Earth's crust, being 40 times more common than silver and 500 times more common than gold. It can be found almost everywhere in rock, soil, rivers, and oceans. The challenge for commercial uranium extraction is to find those areas where the concentrations are adequate to form an economically viable deposit. The primary use for uranium obtained from mining is fuel for nuclear reactors.

Globally, the distribution of uranium ore deposits is widespread on all continents, with the largest deposits found in Australia, Kazakhstan, and Canada. To date, high-grade deposits are only found in the Athabasca Basin region of Canada.

Gameplay

Uranium ore is the raw resource used to create nuclear fuel. The production of uranium ore relies on the quality of the sources in the player's republic.

Exporting uranium ore directly is not very profitable due to its low trading value.

Production

Uranium ore is produced in uranium mines. Uranium ore is produced at 0.75 tons of ore per worker per workday.

Storage

Uranium ore may be stored in both small and large aggregate storage buildings.

Transportation

Uranium ore be transported by using dumper trucks or by trains using hopper cargo wagons.

Uses

Uranium ore is used to manufacture uranium oxide in uranium processing plants. Uranium oxide can be manufactured into UF6, which can then be used to produce nuclear fuel.
