Crops is mainly used for food production in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic. The player can also export crops or use it as a semi-finished product for the production of fabric and chemicals.
Background
A crop is a plant or plant product that can be grown and harvested for profit or subsistence. When the plants of the same kind are cultivated at one place on a large scale, it is called a crop. By use, crops fall into six categories: food crops, feed crops, fiber crops, oil crops, ornamental crops, and industrial crops.
Gameplay
Crops is the most important material for food production. Crops can be processed in a food factory, a distillery or being used as food for livestock. Apart from food processing crops are also used as a semi-finished product for the production of fabric and chemicals.
Crops can be imported from a customs house or be auto-purchased. Early game it is an interesting resource to import, process it into food and export the food. Exporting food is more profitable than exporting crops as crops are not very profitable due to low trade value.

Crops grow on Fields.
Storage
Crops may be stored in a grain storage.
Transportation
Crops can be transported by using Covered Hull trucks or by trains using boxcar or hopper cargo wagons. Although both categorized as covered hull cargo, hopper cars usually carry crops more efficiently than boxcars.
