Background

Boards, a by-product of wood processing. Boards are one of the simplest and oldest materials used in civil construction. Being processed in various ways, it can have multiple roles in constructions and it is also a requirement for some buildings in-game.

Gameplay

Although first impressions based on civil engineering and setting suggest a high use of this material during gameplay, it is rarely necessary or utilized. When it is used it is usually in small volumes, when compared to other construction materials such as cement, prefab panels or bricks.

It's usual low trade value coupled with its large volume may turn it in to a material less desirable to sell by trucks, barely breaking even when fuel costs are added. It's low buying price, couple with its smaller use when compared with other construction materials may make it better acquired through imports rather than by creating its industries. Alternatively, it can be an early source of income, as it's quick to produce and easy to set up as an initial industry.
