Trade
Background
International trade involves the exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders, driven by demand or specific needs. It encompasses a range of services such as financial, accounting, tourism, education, and intellectual property rights.
Importation and exportation are central financial transactions in international trade, regulated by import quotas and customs mandates. Tariffs may be imposed by trade partners, and trade agreements between them also play a significant role in governing the movement of goods.
Export
An export refers to a product manufactured in one country and sold to another, or a service rendered in one nation for an individual or entity from another country. The entity selling these goods or providing services is deemed an exporter.
Import
An import refers to goods and services bought from another nation. The entity buying these goods or receiving services is called an importer.
Customs
In the past, a custom house, also known as a customs house, served as a facility where government officials managed the processes related to importing and exporting goods for a particular jurisdiction. These officials were responsible for tasks such as collecting customs duties on imported items. Custom houses were usually situated in seaports or major river cities with access to the ocean, serving as primary entry points into a country.
Gameplay
In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, players have the opportunity to engage in resource and vehicle trading with either NATO or the Soviet Bloc. They can both import resources and export those produced within their republic. This import-export process is facilitated through customs houses. The currency for payment in importing or exporting resources depends on the bloc involved. Importing or exporting to the NATO bloc requires payment in Dollars, whereas transactions with the Soviet bloc are conducted in Rubles.
Customs house
Customs houses serve as vital links to the outside world in the game. Positioned at borders marked by white dashed or dotted lines, they establish connections with both NATO and the Soviet bloc. These customs houses come in various types, some only accessible via roads while others have multiple road and railway track connections. Players cannot construct customs houses themselves; they are either provided by the map maker or randomly placed during map generation.
All resources, except electricity, can be imported or exported through customs houses. However, electricity can only be imported or exported through electrical connections provided at the border. Players must manually select whether to import or export electricity through these connections.
