Overview

Lizards are a very resilient and distrustful species. They specialize in Meat production and enjoy Warmth due to their cold-blooded nature.

Their Starting Ability is to provide 10  Tools. Lizards have a base Resolve of 5, with a Break interval of 01:40 minutes. Their Resilience is listed as High, while their first Resolve Threshold is 15. With a Decadence level of 7 and a Hunger Tolerance of 12, Lizards are one of the last to leave or die. They are a very versatile species that can be quickly pleased with species-specific Housing.

Consumption and Satisfaction

Like all species, Beavers need to fulfill Complex Needs to start generating Reputation. The more Complex Needs you fulfill, the higher their Resolve will go, up to a maximum of 50. With the exception of the Housing Needs, every need fulfilled grants an additional effect, like  Jerky's increased double production chance. With a Break interval of 100 seconds, Lizards require noticeably more goods to keep their Resolve up, compared to other species.

Proficiency & Comfort

Lizards' Proficiency specialization is Meat production. It grants Lizards a 10% chance to produce twice the amount of resources when working in the following buildings:

Lizards' Comfort specialization is Warmth. It grants Lizards 5 Resolve when working in the following buildings:

These buildings appear as Reputation rewards only when Lizards are on the map. They can still spawn as Ruins.

Strategy

• Use a Lizard Firekeeper to keep villagers above 0 Resolve during Storm Season. This is especially effective when your Lizard population is low enough for the Ancient Hearth's Warmth bonus to make a difference.
• Favoring Lizards is also more effective as a strategy to prevent them from leaving during storm than with other species due to their high Resilience. +5 Resolve from favoring will last 4 times as long as with low Resilience species.
• Low Demands combined with how common Warmth specialization is, make Lizards a good choice for early Reputation generation through Resolve. Though they fall off harder than other species due to high Decadence.
• Consider upgrading Lizard Housing if you find yourself in a camp-heavy game, to increase camp output.
• 10  Tools you get from Lizards' Starting Ability can help in the early game to solve Glade Events, complete Orders or be traded for other Resources.
• Consumption Control your Complex Food to prevent Lizards from eating all of it. They have the most Complex Food needs, but won't generate a lot of Reputation due to their high Decadence.

Trivia

• There are multiple Lizard Traders, named Vliss Greybone and Gex Runescale.
  
• Lizards have two skins, with one skin having a blue uniform and a blue tail, and the other skin having a red uniform and a light brown tail.
• They also have two voice pitches, high and low.
• Lizards have the most Complex Food needs, as well as the least Service needs.
• At 16 blueprints, Lizards have the most Comfort bonuses of all species.
• Before update 1.4, Lizards had the  Religion need instead of Boots.
• Lizards were one of the three initial species available in Against the Storm.
