Road vehicles

From Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic Official Wiki
(Redirected from Open hull truck)

Road vehicles are wheeled or tracked vehicles designed to operate on roads. They are the most flexible type of vehicle available, requiring very little infrastructure and investment to use. Most are capable of operating on any type of road, with trolleybuses and forklifts being the sole exceptions.

There are 213 road vehicles currently in the game.[verification required ]

Passenger

Passenger vehicles transport citizens to jobs, school or university, leisure activities, and shopping locations. They can also transport tourists.

Bus

Buses are the most versatile form of land-based passenger transport, as they can operate on any road including trolleybus and tram roads. They are also able to use trolleybus and tram stops and end stations, although the latter do not store any fuel.

Buses can turn around at a stop, allowing for stops with only one road connection to function.

Personal car

Personal cars can be given to your citizens using car dealers, but can also service lines like other passenger transports. All personal cars can hold up to 4 passengers.

Trolleybus

Trolleybuses run on electricity instead of fuel and require electrified roads to drive on. They may not use tram roads, as the electrical transmission systems are incompatible. Trolleybuses, like regular buses, are able to turn around at a stop.

Cargo

Covered hull

Covered hull trucks are used to transport crops, fabric, alcohol, food, clothes, mechanical components, explosives, livestock, electronic components, electronics, chemicals, and plastics.

Dry bulk tank

Dry bulk tank trucks are used to transport cement and aluminum oxide.

Dumper

Dumper trucks are used to transport aggregates: gravel, quarried stone, coal, coal ore, iron, iron ore, bauxite, raw bauxite, uranium ore, asphalt, construction waste, aluminum scrap, and metal scrap.

Felled tree capacity

These are specialized open hull and dedicated logging trucks that are able to work at wood cutting posts. All of these can transport wood, and most of them can transport all open hull cargo types as well. Open hull trucks in this section also appear in the open hull section.

The Speed/Level of the truck does not impact wood loading speed, capacity, wood yield, or off-road driving speed; it is currently unknown what this value does.

Forklifts

Forklifts transport cargo along industry connections. They are capable of transporting the same type of cargo as open hull, closed hull, dry-bulk, and refrigeration trucks.

Oil tank

Oil tankers transport oil, bitumen, fuel, and liquid fertilizer.

Open hull

Transport steel, wood, boards, prefab panels, bricks, uranium hexafluoride, nuclear fuel, and containers. Some of these trucks additionally have the ability to pick up trees for a Wood Cutting Post and others can transport vehicles of a particular weight and shape on flatbed.

Construction

Bulldozer

Bulldozers are construction vehicles used to spread gravel. They are only used for road construction during the "laying gravel" phase. They are also required to level and smooth terrain if realistic mode is enabled.

When working at a construction site, bulldozers contribute a flat number of workdays per day equal to their Speed/Level.

Concrete mixer

Road crane

Road cranes speed up work on construction sites. They generally have lower "skill" stat than tower cranes, but they can drive to a worksite on their own. All cranes multiply the speed of workers on the construction site by x5.5; the "skill" stat of the crane represents the maximum number of workers than can benefit from this bonus.

Tower crane

Tower cranes speed up work on construction sites. They generally have a much higher "skill" stat than road cranes, but cannot drive on their own and must be loaded on an open hull truck with ability to transport vehicles on flatbed. All cranes multiply the speed of workers on the construction site by x5.5; the "skill" stat of the crane represents the maximum number of workers than can benefit from this bonus. Thus, tower cranes are most effective when many workers will be present to receive their bonus, but offer no advantage over a road crane when only a small number of workers are present.

Service

Service vehicles are placed into Technical services buildings.

Sewage cistern

Transport wastewater.

There are two ways how to use sewage trucks.
A. Sewage trucks can be stationed at the Technical services building and will automatically collect wastewater from all 'sources' (Sewage tanks, Factories, stores, housing, etc.) in range of the technical services building. For this to work the technical services building must be assigned to a wastewater resource. A sewage truck from the technical services building is not able to export wastewater to the customs house. To export wastewater to a customs house you have to schedule a sewage truck, from a Road vehicles depot, on a direct line between 'source ' (Factories, stores, housing, etc.) and customs house.

B. Sewage trucks can be scheduled on a direct line between wastewater 'source' (Sewage loading/unloading station, Factories, stores, housing, etc.) and a customs house.

Fire truck

Fire trucks are stationed at Fire Stations and are automatically sent to put out fires. They need to be manned with firefighters and the truck's skill level shows how many firefighters it can transport at max. Having too few firefighters could mean being unable to extinguish a fire.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 1.7 1.8 1.9 Because vehicle prices are based on the current in-game economy, and this economy has some level of randomization at game start, the in-game prices are unsuitable for comparison of vehicle value between games. The separation of east and west currencies further complicates comparisons. Therefore, an economy and currency independent value has been calculated for vehicles in this list using the vehicle resource equations and fixed resource costs. This is a deliberately currency-independent measurement and is not representative of in-game prices. Rather, it indicates the relative difficulty of manufacturing between vehicles. This can be used to quickly determine which vehicles are easiest to manufacture. The resource costs used are: Workers 1, Steel 60, Plastics 11, Fabric 70, Mechanical components 115, Electro components 200. These are roughly proportional to typical resource price ratios at the start of a new game.
