Porridge is a Complex Food preferred by Foxes and Humans. Each of your Villagers of these Species that fulfills their need for Porridge receives a bonus to their Resolve. It is often the easiest Complex Food to produce during early-game, as Vegetables brought with embarkation can be used to make Porridge and an early Small Farm and Rain Collector can provide ample ingredients.

Porridge is often the first Complex Food a player can produce, as its ingredients can be found early on.
A player can use Vegetables, Grain or Herbs gathered from Small Nodes by the Small Foragers' Camp ★ or Small Herbalists' Camp ★ and Rainwater collected by the Rain Collector to produce it in the Field Kitchen.

Step 1 options:

• A Root Deposit worked by a Scavengers' Camp produces Roots (★).
• A Swamp Wheat Field worked by a Foragers' Camp produces Grain (★).
• Fertile Soil is improved to a Farm Field.

  • Farm Fields worked by an Herb Garden produce Roots (★).

Step 2 options:

• A Rain Mill refines either or both of the Grain or Roots into Flour (★★★).

Bare minimum production

If you need Porridge without a lot of investment, look here. The simplest and lowest-level access to Porridge from among the ingredients and Buildings still requires two selected blueprints for production Buildings. Altogether, this setup requires 10 Wood, 3 Parts, 10 Planks, and 4 Fabric for the Camps and Buildings.

1. A Root Deposit worked by a Scavengers' Camp AND
2. A Rain Mill, which is slightly cheaper than a Provisioner AND
3. A Bakery which is cheaper than a Cookhouse

Efficient sustainable production

If you need to sustain Porridge and want to feel efficient at doing so, look here.

1. Farm Fields worked by an Herb Garden producing both Roots and Herbs.
2. The Roots are refined by a Rain Mill into Flour.
3. A Cookhouse or Bakery combines the Flour and Herbs into Porridge. Since both are two-star (★★), you can choose based on which other products you need.
