Background

A footpath (also pedestrian way, walking trail, nature trail) is a type of thoroughfare that is intended for use only by pedestrians and not other forms of traffic such as motorized vehicles, bicycles and horses. They can be found in a wide variety of places, from the centre of cities, to farmland, to mountain ridges.

Gameplay

In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic footpaths are mainly used by Citizens, they are really keen on using footpaths. Footpaths can be used to take shortcuts where the player can't put roads. Emergency vehicles like (secret) police cars, ambulances, fire trucks can also make use of footpaths but they prefer roads.

Footpaths can be connected to other footpaths and to roads. It's also possible to make use of overpasses and underpasses, which are only accessible by citizens. Metro related infrastructure can be found under underpasses.

Types

There are two kind of footpaths: mud and gravel. It's possible to upgrade mud footpaths to (gravel) footpaths.
