Queen's Impatience

Overview

Creating a successful settlement is a race against the clock. The Queen's Impatience is this clock. Her Impatience will increase every minute. When Her Impatience reach a maximum of 14 points, you lose.

Gaining Impatience

The red bar on the bottom right is Her Impatience, it will increase by a certain amount every minute. Viceroys can see how fast it increases by hovering their cursor on the skull icon.

When a Viceroy gains Impatience, they will see the Forests' Hostility go down. This is because Impatience and Hostility are linked. The higher Her Impatience, the lower Hostility goes.

Viceroys can make the Queen mad and increase Her Impatience by:

• Killing a Trader
• Calling a Trader
• Have Villagers leave or die.
• Opening a Glade when having the "Mist Piercers" or "Ancient Pact" cornerstones.

Reducing Impatience

The only way to reduce Impatience is to gain Reputation Points. A Viceroy can buy a Perk called Reputation Donation, which removes 0.5 more Impatience per Reputation point gained.

Slowing down Impatience

There are several ways of slowing down Impatience, these are:

• Assigning a Firekeeper from the Humans to the Hearth. Depending on Upgrades acquired, this will slow down Her Impatience by up to 25%.

• Upgrading the Obsidian Archive in the Citadel Upgrades. Each upgrade reduces Her Impatience rate by 2%.

Forest Mysteries influencing Impatience

Mystery	Description	Penalty	Penalty Description
No Contact	Harsh weather conditions make it impossible to reach the Citadel. Gaining Reputation doesn't lower Impatience.
Spreading Contamination	Blightrot contaminates everything you send to the Citadel. During the storm, the Queen's Impatience grows faster for every Blightrot Cyst in your settlement.
Vassal Tax	Due to this region's location, the Crown requires you to pay  Amber with each storm (multiplied by the number of years played). If you don't, you will get 1 Impatience point."	Queen's Wrath	If you don't pay the tax, you will gain 1 Impatience Point.

Perks and Cornerstones influencing Impatience

Type	Effect	Description
Trader Perk	Badge of Courage	-0.5 Impatience for every glade opened during the Storm Season.
Cornerstone	Frequent Caravans	The Crown is very forgiving - as long as the goods keep flowing. Impatience grows slower every time you finish a trade route.
Cornerstone	Royal Guard Training	The Crown sends two Royal Guards to your village. Instead of simply brawling, villagers will now train under them. Fulfilling the need for brawling grants an additional +5 to Resolve, but attacking a trader will result in you getting extra Impatience Points.
Cornerstone	Hidden from the Queen	The crown doesn't need to know everything. There is no Impatience penalty when villagers leave or die, but Impatience will grow faster, starting from Drizzle year 9
Cornerstone	Mist Piercers	You are allowed to use the legendary Mist Piercers. With such a rare gift at your disposal, the Queen's expectations are high. The content of glades will be revealed, but each discovered glade increases the Queen’s Impatience.
World Modifier	World Modifier: Sparkdew Crystals	The crown warned you not to settle near giant Sparkdew Crystals. Start with Impatience.
World Modfier	World Modifier: Land of Greed	A strange totem causes you to only focus on your wealth... And the Crown is worried. Impatience grows quicker, but every ongoing trade route reduces the Impatience generation speed.
