Xenonauts 2 features the following mission types:

Eliminate all hostile units An alien research team has been sighted gathering data in the local region. This presents our organization an opportunity to eliminate them and recover their equipment for study.
Abduction 3 Days -10 Global Panic Level
3 Alien Alloys per deactivated abduction tube
3 Alenium per deactivated abduction tube
Rescue at least 5 civilians from abduction tubes within 7 turns We have detected alien ground forces abducting civilians in this region. Rescuing the civilians will improve our relations with the local region and allow us to recover alien resources.
Crashed UFO 3 Days Alien Alloys
Alenium
Eliminate all hostile units within the UFO and hold it for 3 turns This crashed UFO is likely to contain valuable alien technology and resources. Deploying a combat team to eliminate any surviving extraterrestrials at the crash site will allow recovery to begin.
Terror 1 Days -30 Region Panic Level
5 Alenium per surviving Alien Bomb
Eliminate all hostile units The aliens are attacking a major population center. Panic in this region will rise significantly if we are unable to stop them.
Landed UFO 14 hours Alien Alloys

Alien Electronics
Eliminate all hostile units within the UFO and hold it for 3 turns This landed UFO is likely to contain valuable alien technology and resources. We can send a combat team to eliminate the crew and capture the UFO before it takes off. This mission will be more difficult and have greater rewards than a crash site, as both the UFO and the crew are undamaged.

Return to the dropship with at least 10 Cleaner Data The Cleaners are using this office as a secret intelligence hub. Raiding the side may allow us to capture more data about their organisation.
Cleaner Cell Persistent Cleaner Data Kill or stun the VIP Cleaner forces in this area use improved weapons or armor, which they are also supplying to the Cleaner Headquarters.
Cleaner Base Persistent $500000 Funds
-10 Global Panic Level
Eliminate all hostile units This facility is the headquarters of the Cleaner organization. Destroying it would permanently end their operation. Each Cleaner Cell is supplying the Headquarters with a bonus, which can be removed by destroying that Cell.
Alien Base Persistent -10 Region Panic Level Eliminate all hostile units The aliens have constructed an outpost on our planet. Although we don't know the exact purpose of this installation, we should attempt to destroy it as soon as possible.
Base Defense Immediate Base is not destroyed Eliminate all hostile units
