Background
Coal mining is the process of extracting coal from the ground. Coal is valued for its energy content and since the 1880s has been widely used to generate electricity. Steel and cement industries use coal as a fuel for extraction of iron from iron ore and for cement production.
Gameplay
Coal Mine is the building used to produce coal ore. As with other mines, the coal mine must be placed over a coal deposit to produce coal ore. Coal mines must be staffed by workers and powered by electricity to function. Coal ore can be transported from the mine by dumper trucks, conveyors or aggregate storage cableways. Coal mine is used for getting coal ore which can be further processed in coal ore processing plant into coal.
Production
Coal ore is mined underground by workers. It can have a maximum daily production of 1050 t per coal mine[1].
Storage
Coal ore may be stored in both small and large aggregate storage buildings.
Transportation
Coal ore can be transported by using dumper trucks or by trains using hopper cargo wagons.

This article is too short to provide more than rudimentary information about the subject and/or has missing construction stages. You can help us by expanding it.

Placement
While in construction placing mode with a coal mine, dots in a circle will appear around the building. These dots represent coal deposit under the building. Red dots represent that there are no deposits below the building, yellow dots represent some deposits while green represent big resources bellow. The more green dots, the more efficiency the building will have. Mines placed in areas with no resources and with no efficiency, will not produce any coal.

- ↑ The maximum production per worker is 4.2 t per worker. The coal mine can have a maximum of 250 workers per day. This leaves the equation in: 4.2 t max per worker x 250 max workers = 1050 t per day
