The Falling Frontier Universe is a vast and unforgiving place. There is a multitude of Megacorporations and Factions vying for control of resources and territory. In Falling Frontier humans have advanced in technology to create FTL travel thanks to the resource Ti-82. This resource opened the way for new technologies to be found and helped humanity spread across the stars. The use of Ti-82 led to new Weapons and technologies that help a faction establish a foothold in a system.

The player enters the Sol system during a time of conflict, the period of the First Colonial War of 2238 where the Colonial Expeditionary Pact (CEP) tries to establish independence from the Inner System Defense Treaty (ISDT).
