Upon release Falling Frontier will feature a modding tool called 'The Scenario Creator'. This feature allows a player to create their own star systems, stories and campaigns to share with their friends, which planned to be through steam workshop. It is included in the game, and is not an external tool. The scenario creator can be broken down into 3 sections:

  • Celestial Allows for the creation of custom star systems, and allows players to place celestial objects wherever they like.
  • Entity Allows for the placement and editing of entities such as ships or stations
  • Events Allows for the creation of event triggers that can then in turn create custom missions or scenarios that allows players to create their own stories.

Some modding tools may come later in the Early Access release-cycle. Support for importing external assets may come at a later stage, but only after a 1.0 release.
