Abilities

Gene-thief ants are entirely fictional. They were created in a laboratory by scientists who researched on gene-splicing. By consuming Royal Jelly that was infused with genetic materials of other species, the queen could select and pass down desirable traits to her broods.

Gene-thief ants use basic attack by biting. Royal guards are uncontrollable and can only attack enemies.

You can unlock new units and adaptations for your gene-thief ants using Royal Jelly in the main story.

Trivia

  • Myrmecia ereptor was an exclusive reward for backers who supported over 35£. It is purely cosmetic.
  • The original story of the game involved a scientist who followed an Formica ereptor queen on its migration. The story was meant to be based on an island with a variety of environment and ant species that shouldn't exist in the same place. The gene-thief ant colony expanded through the island, killing rival ant colonies and gaining their desirable traits.
