Settings
Your termite colony must become the last survivor in the area. Your nest is located between 2 enemy termite colonies and to the west of a small stream. Nest entrance has already been excavated.
The mission starts at night. It becomes scorching at noon and outside termites will take 2/ 3/ 5/ 7/ 10 damage every 5 seconds.
Lignocellulose accumulates on the stream bank and gives 44360 food in total.
You start with 6 major worker brood tiles, 5 lignocellulose storage tiles and 5 fungus storage tiles.
Non-player colonies
Enemy termite colonies are hostile to each other.
Minor soldiers and major soldiers are kept around the queen and are only deployed to protect the gathering groups or to invade your nest.
Enemy colonies don't get free nanitic workers when they don't have any food or workers left.
Enemy colonies retreat inside at noon and gather lignocellulose within their territories for the rest of the day. After either of them has been defeated, the remaining one will invade your nest.
Notable enemies
Enemies are on the same side and are hostile to the termites and the Matabele ants.
Earwigs and alligator back scorpions live in your nest. Alligator back scorpions can excavate and release enemies in your nest.
Level 1 African stink ants appear underground and move through the soil toward your queen in the evening, only when Matabele ants are absent. They eventually leave if you don't dig into their paths or after they have taken enough dead termites.
Surface enemies don't invade your nest. They may fight among themselves to keep their own number in check.
African tiger beetles, rainbow lizards and giant African mantises only appear on the surface during the day.
Earwigs, large sun spiders, large African giant centipedes, alligator back scorpions and large emperor scorpions only appear on the surface at night.
Matabele ants
Matabele ants conduct raids in the morning and in the evening. They retreat after they have taken enough casualties. Attacking waves consist of fast-responder medics and soldiers. Revived ants will be added to the following wave.
Matabele ants will target the colony with the lowest resistance. You can't be targeted before the second day. Resistance is calculated based on the combat score of eliminated Matabele ants and health percentage of escaping Matabele ants.
Challenge
The size-level 1/ 1/ 2/ 3/ 3 large emperor scorpion appears every night and enters your nest through the hillside spawner. It can excavate and release underground enemies in your nest. It isn't hostile to the Matabele ants.
It will become invulnerable and leave through the hillside spawner after a certain amount of time. It is vulnerable again outside and remains on the surface to fight until noon. It regains 10% of its health after each escape. Invading duration increases over time.
The challenge mode large emperor scorpion grows into a size-level 1 huge emperor scorpion on the fifth night on easy and medium, on the fourth night on hard and on the third night on extreme and impossible.
