This page shows mechanics about damage modifying effects.

Mechanics

Same-typed buffs and debuffs are treated as the same effect. Their effects can't stack.

Different-typed buffs or debuffs are treated as different effects. Each creature can be inflicted with both a physical resistance modifying effect and a venom resistance modifying effect at once.

General damage buff

General damage buff can only be inflicted on the users.

Affected creatures can inflict more damage with any abilities, regardless of damage type. The buff is applied before damage is put in damage calculation.

Users (self)

Resistance buff

Resistance buff can only be inflicted on the users.

Affected creatures will take less damage from same-typed attacks.

Resistance debuff

Resistance debuff can only be inflicted on enemies.

Affected creatures will take more damage from same-typed attacks. It is only applied after [resistance - piercing] has been calculated in the damage formula.

Effect of Weakening and Crippling can be stacked in value, which is an exception.
