Playable Spider

The playable beach wolf spider (Arctosa litoralis) is only available in holiday levels.

Abilities

You control the spider by clicking anywhere on the map or using the arrow keys. You can lock the camera to your spider or unlock it by pressing Tab.

The spider loses 1 HP every second due to hunger. The spider is at level 1 at the start of the level. It gains experience equal to the score of eliminated enemies. It heals completely and its base health increases each time it gains a level.

You must click on the respective button then click on an approriate target to use an ability. Each ability is also assigned to a number key. Basic attack is at level 1 and other abilities are locked (at level 0) at the start of the level.

All abilities gain 1 upgrade point each when the spider reaches level 2 and levels which are multiples of 3. These points can be accumulated. You must click on a small button above the respective ability to upgrade it. You can only spend a total number of points one less than your level.

• Bite: This is the basic attack. You can right-click anywhere on the map to use it. You can permanently increase the spider's health by upgrading this ability.

• Venom strike: The spider can expel venom on the ground and damage nearby enemies over time.

• Cripple: The spider can shoot venom to slow enemies down and make them take more damage.

• Devour: The spider can eat up to 30 food to heal.
