Damaging Effect
This page shows the mechanics of damaging effects.
Damage-over-time
A creature can use its ability to inflict damage-over-time effect on enemies.
Attack damage will be inflicted at first. Effect damage is dealt after each set amount of time until the duration of the effect is over. Effect damage can have different type from attack damage. An instant of effect damage is treated as an attack.
Damage-over-time effects are applied equally to all enemies within effect radius, without splash reduction.
Damage-over-time effects can be displayed differently.
- A bleeding creature is surrounded by splashing hemolymph. Damage is physical.
- A poisoned creature is surrounded by green cloud. Damage is venom.

Damage reflection
An affected creature with can inflict a percentage of damage they take on the attacker each time they are hit. A creature with thorn resistance can reduce reflecting damage by a certain percentage.
If the creature is affected by damage-over-time, the attacker will also receive reflecting damage over time, even if it has already moved away.
Reflecting damage is calculated before maximum taken damage is applied.
Damage reflection isn't triggered by projectiles or other damage reflection. It still works on mounting ants and termites.
