This page shows the mechanics of damaging effects.
Damage-over-time
Damage-over-time effects can only be inflicted on enemies. They are applied equally without splash reduction.
Affected creatures will take extra effect damage after the initial attack damage. Effect damage is inflicted after each set amount of time until the duration of the effect is over. Effect damage can have different type from attack damage. An instant of effect damage is treated as a successful attack.
Damage-over-time effects can be displayed differently.
- Bleeding creatures are surrounded by splashing hemolymph. Damage is physical.
- Poisoned creatures are surrounded by green cloud. Damage is venom.
Each creature can be inflicted with damage-over-time multiple times. The effects are stacked in value.

Damage reflection
Affected creatures can inflict a percentage of taken damage on the attackers each time they are hit. Creatures with thorn resistance can reduce reflecting damage by a certain percentage.
If the affected creatures are inflicted with damage-over-time effect, the attackers will also receive reflecting damage over time, even if they have already moved away.
Reflecting damage is calculated before maximum taken damage is applied.
Damage reflection isn't triggered by projectiles or other damage reflection. It still affect mounting ants and termites.
