The level starts at night. It becomes scorching at noon and outside termites will take 5 damage every 5 seconds.

Dead vegetation accumulates on the stream bank.

You start with 6 major worker brood tiles, 5 lignocellulose storage tiles and 5 fungus storage tiles.

AI colonies

The enemy termite colonies are hostile to each other.

Minor soldiers and major soldiers are kept around the queen and are only deployed to protect the gathering groups or to invade your nest.

The enemy colonies retreat inside at noon and gather lignocellulose within their territories for the rest of the day.

After either of the enemy colonies has been defeated, the remaining colony will desperately invade your nest at night.

Notable enemies

Enemies are on the same side and are hostile to the termites and the Matabele ants.

Earwigs and alligator back scorpions live in your nest.

African stink ants appear underground and move through the soil toward your queen in the morning and in the evening, only when Matabele ants are absent. They eventually leave if you don't dig into their paths or after they have taken enough dead termites.

Surface enemies mostly appear on the eastern side of the mounds and don't invade your nest.

Challenge

An emperor scorpion appears every night and enters your nest through the hillside spawner. It can excavate and release underground enemies in your nest.

It leaves after it has eliminated a certain food amount of termites. It heals completely and increases in size and appetite after each invasion. It doesn't leave and can be eliminated if you attack it on the surface.
