Coal is the best early game way of generating power, with nuclear energy being the superior option once you have the resources to build the nuclear plant and surrounding industry.
Utilizing Cableways to move the ore from mine to plant is the recommended logistical setup, as Trucks are slower, require Fuel and have lower throughput.
