Story Events

Story Events will take place a month after certain story conditions are met:

  • One Humanity? takes place within the first two weeks. It will grant all nations 1 Cohesion.
  • U.N. Security Council Meets takes place within the first two weeks. It will give each faction a choice between remaining in shadows, quietly steering support (+25 influence, small Public Opinion boost everywhere, reveals the faction's motives to other factions) and delivering their menifesto (+50 Influence, moderate Public Opinion boost everywhere, reveals the faction's motives and councilors to other factions).
  • Select Management Team takes place within the first two weeks. It will give each faction a choice between 4 permanent bonuses to priority investments: +10% Economy, +5% Spaceflight Program and Boost, +5% Military and Build Army, +5% Welfare and Knowledge.
  • Select Advisory Team takes place within the first two weeks. It will give each faction a choice between 4 permanent bonuses to monthly income: +3 Influence, +15 Research, +3 Ops, +10 Money.
  • Objective Complete - Alien Crash takes place for every faction that investigates the its first crash site. It will grant 20 Influence and 20 Research.
  • The New Normal takes place on 1st February 2023. Afterwards the mission assignment phase will only take place every 2 weeks.
  • They Have Not Come In Peace takes place the month after researching the Deep System Skywatch global research. The Academy will suffer a massive loss of Public Opinion and half of their Control Points will suffer a Crackdown effect. All nations with Cohesion above 5 will gain 1 Cohesion. All nations with Cohesion below 5 will lose 1 Cohesion.

Optional Events

Optional Events will take place a month after certain optional conditions are met:

  • Aliens And The Dharma will increase Public Opinion towards a faction in Hindu religion regions. The faction is chosen at random unless one of them controls the Mumbai region.
  • Fatwa Issued will increase Public Opinion towards a faction in Sunni religion regions. The faction is chosen at random unless one of them controls the Jeddah region.
  • Papal Bull will increase Public Opinion towards a faction in Christian religion regions. The faction is chosen at random unless one of them controls the Rome region.
  • Sunday Sermons will increase Public Opinion towards a faction in Evangelical religion regions. The faction is chosen at random unless one of them controls the Atlanta region.
  • The Ayatollahs Speak will increase Public Opinion towards a faction in Shia religion regions. The faction is chosen at random unless one of them controls the Tehran region.
  • Mysterious Obelisk has random outcome and can give a faction some research. The Servants have an additional option to increase their Influence income by 1. It has the following requiremnts:
    • Aliens have conducted an Abductions mission in a region controlled by one of the faction's nations
  • Haunted Forest will preform 2 abductions in one nation and move Cohesion by 1 towards extreme values. There is a chance to lessen the effects by paying 10 Ops. Humanity First has the option to pay 10 Ops and some GDP and Population to cancel the effects, give the nation 1 Cohesion and reduce the spread of xenoforming. The Servants has the option to pay 25 influence to increase the number of abductions and gain Public Opinion. It has the following requiremnts:
    • Alien councilor nearby
  • The Town That Stood Still will preform 6 abductions in one nation and increase Public Opinion for the aliens. There is a chance to lessen the effects by paying 20 Ops and 200 Money, or just 10 Ops if the Rapid Response Teams council engineering project has been finished. Humanity First has the option to pay 10 Influence, 1 Atrocity and some GDP and Population to cancel the effects and give the nation 1 Cohesion. It has the following requiremnts:
    • At least 2 abductions have happened in a region controlled by one of the faction's nations
  • Space Morgul Benefactor will grant a faction the choice between unlocking the faction's unique space org or gaining 10 Boost. It has the following requiremnts:
    • Faction finished the Alien Operations council engineering project
    • Faction does not have Control Points in any nation with 5
    • Faction's Boost income is 0 or 0.01.
  • Volunteer will grant a faction the choice between gaining 5 Influence or spending 100 Money to gain an open control point in a powerful nation. It has the following requiremnts:
    • World finished the Arrival Domestic Politics global research
    • Faction does not have Control Points in any nation with 4

Random Events

Random Events can take place at any point. They can happen multiple times each game.

  • Panic can happen in any nation that had abductions and Cohesion is below 9. Coneshion will increase by 2 if above 5 and decrease by -2 if below 5, while Unrest will increase by 3. 100 Money and 50 Influence can be spent to reduce it to -1 Cohesion and +1 Unrest, or 10 Ops and 0.01 Democracy can be spend to cancel the effects. The Initiative can gain 250 Money and 50 Influence while reducing the effects to -2 Cohesion and +1 Unrest.
  • Sudden Flowering can take place in any region that had abductions. An Alien Life Forms alien asset will appear in the region. 20 Ops can be spent to reduce the initial growth, or 20 Influence can be spent to gain 300 Research. The Servants can spend 50 Influence to increase the initial growth and gain Public Opinion.
  • Personality Clash can take place while having two councilors who both have at least 5 traits. One of both councilors will lose sole Loyalty unless the faction can pay a large amount of Influence.
  • Work-Related Stress can take place while having a councilor has been used for at least 5 years. The councilor will gain a random trait.
  • Anti-Satellite Test can take place when a nation spends at least 20% priority on Miltech and has both any army and rivals. The nation's miltech will increase by 0.1. If a faction owns its executive control point it will hain a huge amount of Public Opinion in the nation but lose it around the world.
  • Snap Exercises can take place when two nations are rivals, controlled by different factions, and one of them has neither armies not strategic nuclear barrages. The nation without any of these lose 1 Cohesion and the faction controlling it will lose some Public Opinion. The other nation's Miltech will rise by 0.1.
  • Hab Offers To Defect can take place after the Industrialization of Space global research has been completed to any faction that has at least 5 Mission Control. If the offer is accepted thare is a chance that one hab from another human faction will switch sides.



  • Lucky Strike A random ground based hab will get a 25% increase in base resource yields. If your collective science rating between all councilors is 25 or more, gain the option to try to make it a 50% chance instead.
  • COUNTRY Develops Super Crop A random country will invent a new super food. Default option gives +1% GDP. Second option allows for spending large sum of funds and some influence for a +2% GDP gain and public opinion. A third option, available only if ???, allows the player exploit this new food for profit, granting a lump sum of money and inequality. can someone find out what the last option needs?

Climate Change Events

Climate Change Events can only take place once the Global Temperature Anomaly rises or falls after a certain threshold.

  • Envirnmental Degradation can take place after temperature rises above 1.5°C in any nation where Economy+Spoils priority is greater than Welfare. A random nation will lose GDP and gain Inequality and Unrest while the faction controlling it will lose Public Opinion. The Unrest can be canceled and Public Opinion increased by paying Money. The Initiative can instead gain some Money but this will reduce Education by -1 and increase Inequality by 1.
