Regional wealth is a type of currency. It is primarily gained through having level 2 or higher burgage plots (1 wealth per level 2 family per month) or by selling resources at the trading post. It can be used to establish trade routes, buy resources, livestock, or purchase backyard extensions at the burgage plot. Its icon looks like a small pouch of coins.

A trade route is the best way to start reliably selling resources for regional wealth. Many early resources sell for 1-4 regional wealth at the start of a game.

As examples of purchase prices, importing resources is much more expensive than selling resources at the start of a game and tends to cost around 18 regional wealth before development upgrades are applied. An ox costs 20 regional wealth to buy using the hitching post. A vegetable garden backyard extension costs 15 regional wealth to construct.

Regional wealth is distinct from personal wealth accrued by taxation.
