A Hitching Post is a building provides Stable space with which to keep pack animals. This initially means oxen, which can pull Timber from felled trees cut down by Logging Camps, and distribute them to building sites, Sawpits or other locations that require the resource. Timber cannot be moved without the help of an ox.

Uses

A family working here will always be prioritised to guide the ox, which can save time for workers from other families. Without a permanent ox guide, those workers would have to retrieve the ox for themselves, and then set out on their assigned task on top of that.

One of the Hitching Posts's main purposes is to provide Stabling space for animals. If the total amount of Stable space in the village is insufficient, animals may run away.

The player can also purchase another ox for 20 regional wealth, or purchase horses to assist with trading. Note that the ox can still be purchased if insufficient Stable space will be present after the ox is delivered.

Upgrades

The stabling space can be increased by +1, to 2 total, if upgraded for 2 Planks.
