Link has 5 main parts:

1. opening brackets
2. target
   • can have subpage at start or end
3. separator
4. linktext
   • always required for translation pages
5. closing brackets

new basic plan: [[english{{tl2|localisation}}

• where TL2 is /{{language-magicword-thingy}}|
• but ]] unbalanced so maybe it should be used to wrap the end anyway
• wrapping tags around localisation is "nice" but also confusing technically
• works if logged out/works if localisation not set

possible variant [[english{{tl2}}localisation]]

past attempts: [[{{tl}}english|localisation]] - with tl=="Special:MyLanguage" in control parser - required some setup if link not piped leading to confusion about where linktext would go

<nowiki>[[english/Template:Language-magicword-thingy|localisation]] - long separation between english link target and localisation, pipe and slash could be misadded, likely to break in english without control parser
