Rewards

Settings

A leafcutter ant colony must grow and defeat the local predators.

You can expand the map and unlock relevant objectives by sending your ants to the desired areas. You can only expand to the east after eliminating an enemy leafcutter ant.

The level starts at night.

The forest floor is covered with harvestable saplings.

There is a floodplain to the northeast of your nest. Water only starts receding when the corresponding objective is unlocked. Every 90 seconds, water floods the area for 5 seconds and recedes quickly afterwards, washing away both dead or alive creatures.

Your colony is at level 0 and you only have access to minors at the start of the level. Your colony gains experience points equal to your combat score. You can unlock new units and adaptations each time your colony gains a level, up until level 30. You are also rewarded with experience points for completing the objectives.

You have access to super leafcutter ant major only in this level, when your colony reaches level 28.

AI colonies

The enemy leafcutter ant colony and trap-jaw ant colony are hostile to each other.

Both colonies will invade your nest after they have amassed enough number.

Leafcutter ant colony

The leafcutter ant colony only has access to taunt majors. It can spawn ants for free only when it doesn't have any food and you are outside. Taunt majors are kept around the queen and are only deployed to invade your nest.

It randomly chooses amongst specific locations on the surface to gather leaves.

Trap-jaw ant colony

The trap-jaw ant colony doesn't cheat. It hunts small enemies coming from the northern spawner.

Notable enemies

Other enemies are on the same side and are hostile to the ants. Enemies are powerscaled.

Green rove beetles, blue rove beetles, tiny whip spiders and velvet worms live in your nest.

Most surface enemies gather in groups of the same kind. They don't invade your nest.

Woodworms, larval rove beetles and tiny whip spiders stop coming from the northern spawner after the trap-jaw ant colony is defeated.

A huge whip spider is located to the east of the enemy leafcutter ant nest.

An Uber jumping spider is located in the southwestern area. It is protected by a myriad of its kind.

Some army ants gather in the northwestern area. After you have encountered them for the first time, army ants appear intermittently as attacking waves and immediately invade your nest.

Enemies on the southern hill will invade your nest when they are attacked. They include rove beetles, harvestmen, spiny devil bush crickets and leaf-mimic praying mantises.

The final objective only appears after you have unlocked at least 12 objectives and completed all available ones. By carefully exploring, you can skip either eliminating the Uber jumping spider or gathering from the floodplain entirely.

The infested nest is opened right next to your nest. The Uber spiny devil bush cricket, the Uber leaf-mimic praying mantis, the Uber whip spider, the Uber velvet worm and various powerscaled enemies make their home here. They will invade your nest when they are attacked. You only need to elimiate the final 4 Uber creatures to complete the final objective.

Trivia

  • Trap-jaw ant queen and workers are available only in this level and only as enemies.
  • Because the player species is leafcutter ant, the royal guards take appearance of leafcutter ant minors.
