Your gene-thief ant colony must take over a black ant nest from inside. You don't have access to the surface.

You only have access to black ant soldiers.

Level 1 black ant soldiers and devil's coach horse beetles live in your nest.

Underground caverns are automatically excavated over time after your have encountered black ants for the first time. You can pre-emptively dig out underground caverns containing black ants.
