This page shows the mechanics of enemy mounting and notable targets.
Enemy mounting
Only controllable ants can mount other creatures. The number of mounting ants on each creature is unaffected by their size.
Only a certain percentage of fighting ants can mount a large creature in battle. If ants on the ground are dead or prevented from attacking, mounting ants will dismount until the required percentage is met.
You can disable attacking or enemy mounting to prevent your ants from mounting or make them dismount.
Mounting ants can only use basic attack and can't use any abilities, except for fire ants. They are affected by damage reflection.
Large creatures will take more damage if there are enough mounting ants on them. The specific calculation hasn't been revealed.
Mounting ants will be dead when mounted creatures leave the map.
Mountable enemies
Medium ants (leafcutter ant mediae and matabele ant soldiers) and large ants (leafcutter ant majors and army ant majors) can only mount huge enemies. Small ants can mount both large and huge enemies.
Ants themselves can't be mounted, regardless of their size.
Super leafcutter ant major can't mount enemies. Termites are treated as small ants.
