Phorid flies are challenge mode enemies in rainforest documentary missions.
Abilities
Phorid flies rest on harvestable plants. Infested locations are represented by fly symbols on the minimap.
Phorid flies will attempt to lay eggs inside any nearby ants or termites. The infected move and attack 50% more slowly. They become dead after 2 minutes without losing any health.
Ants and termites have 0% chance to fend off phorid flies when they are carrying resources and 30% chance when they don't. Level 3 soldiers have 100% chance to fend off phorid flies even when they are carrying resources.
Successful defense will cause the flies to leave the area permanently. Each ant can only chase away a fly every 2 minutes. Ants and termites can still remove phorid flies even if you disable attacking.
