Resources with a gear icon can automate their supply, ensuring there is always at least a certain amount of that resource produced and stored.
Food
Food resources are used to fill the Clanfolk Food and Water stats. Food resources will eventually spoil if kept in places with temperature above 0°C/32°F.
Ingredients
Ingredients are resources used to produce more useful resources.
Tools
Tools are resources that unlock additional options for the Clanfolk. They can only be produced and stored in stacks of 1.
